Capital Improvements

One of the ways that the PTA contributes to Forestville is by funding capital improvement projects. Here are some of the projects that have been funded in years past.

Sun Shade

The PTA heard from teachers that during the warm months, teachers and students both wished that they had a shady place to sit and take a break during recess. The PTA wants to support the needs of our community to enjoy the outdoor spaces safely.  Thanks to the strong fundraising performed by the students for the 2023 Fun Run, the PTA is currently procuring a shade structure for our playground.

Electronic Sign

In 2022, the PTA began working with the school to design and construct an electronic sign.  We are excited that the new sign will allow timely updates to the community about events, school holidays and important reminders.

iPads for Kindergarten

In the summer of 2022, the PTA paid for the purchase of iPads for rising Kindergarten students.  These iPads are used in the classroom in conjunction with educational software like Lexia. This allows kindergartners to do individually paced literacy and math instruction.

If you have ideas for capital improvement projects that you think would benefit our community, we’d love to hear them!
